Samuel’s Thoughts 70: Cosplay Whiplash

On this episode of Samuel’s Thoughts I talk about a little incident that happened on Tuesday that still has me a bit dizzy, some nerves involving my first really big crossplay, the death of a special SD card, then thoughts on how limited the restaurant market is in tiny towns like mine.

  1. Sam, listened to this latest episode today and I have one thing I must disagree with you on. You stated that with specialty restaurants, such as Mexican or Italian, that it’s an “Americanized” version of the food. I must disagree. Having eaten at many Mexican restaurants over the past several years and talking with the owners of one or two of them, when you have owners and workers that are actually born and raised in Mexico, the food you are eating in those restaurants is the real deal.

Taco Bell and the like are “Americanized” versions of Mexican food — also known as TexMex. But the places we have around here — real Mexican food. 🙂

    1. I didn’t mean all of them and that’s a mistake on my part if it came off that way! Yea places that have actual persons of that decent tend to actually be the real deal. In the case of the local Mexican restaurant that we have here the reason I think they will never be taken from their top spot is because they are so authentic while others that try to horn in might not be! Thanks for taking the time to give feedback and point out how I wasn’t clear on that one!
